Exuberance

This view of the dunes began life as the ghost of an image in a painting I had wiped out.  I developed this painting by letting each stroke determine the next.  I was excited and "exuberant" as the images emerged from the shadows, and the scene came alive.

I deliberately left out anything that looked like detail, worked from my imagination, letting each stroke dictate the next.
